Our Core Values

At ALICE Project, we are committed to fostering a world where gender equality and social justice are not just ideals, but realities. Our core values of empowerment, diversity, and inclusion drive everything we do. We believe in the power of storytelling, art, and community to create lasting change. Join us in our mission to challenge the status quo and build a more equitable future for all.

ALICE Project stands in solidarity with trans, non-binary and intersex people. We are committed to creating cultural and social spaces that honour diversity and protect the rights of all individuals, especially those facing marginalisation and inequality.

We’re sharing this statement in response to the recent UK Supreme Court ruling (For Women Scotland v The Scottish Ministers, 16 April 2025), which clarified the legal definition of “sex” under the Equality Act 2010 as biological sex assigned at birth. It’s important to note that the same Act continues to offer protection on the basis of gender reassignment, which includes trans and non-binary people.

We recognise the distress and uncertainty this ruling — and the public discourse around it — is causing. At ALICE Project, we believe in a world built on care, empathy and solidarity. We reject any narrative that seeks to divide communities or further marginalise those already excluded.

ALICE Project will continue working with our partners and community to advocate for inclusive, equitable spaces where everyone feels safe and supported. If you’ve been impacted by the ruling and need support, we encourage you to reach out to Bristol Hate Crime & Discrimination Service or Bristol Law Centre.
